Description:
when the pandemic COVID-19 and the movement control order (MCO) have been implemented since 2020, this situation affects the local community, especially local micro, small and medium-sized businesses (MSMEs). The process of selling their products/services was restricted during the period of the MCO. In fact, some MSMEs have had to close their businesses because they were unable to generate any sales, instead they were making losses. This may be because they run their business purely face-to-face or without leveraging digital channels such as websites and social media to drive cash flow into their company
The APK course felt the importance to help the local MSMEs to digitize their businesses, and for students to apply their digital entrepreneurship knowledge and skill learned and explored through the PEERS process. Hence, the APK courses integrated the concept of service learning (SULAM) as one of the students' business practicum options practicum (other practicums include take order and deliver, event management, and gig economy) in Semester 1 Session 2020/2021. They can conduct this SULAM project using the PEERS process method. The students will take on the role of a digital marketing consultant who will assist MSMEs in digitising their businesses for free as part of this initiative
