Abstract:
This year, UMY's International Relations program conducted a July-August 2021 'Summer School' virtually. Previously, FSSK's International Relations' students took part in UMY's Summer School by going to Yogyakarta.
Given the pandemic, the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities (FSSK) at Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) are happy that UMY has decided to continue their excellent program and host their Summer School program online.
The courses offered this time are "Islam and International Relations", "International Relations in Southeast Asia" and "International Social Movements". Some of the courses have a match with FSSK faculty offerings, and thus, students may take those courses at UMY for transfer credit. However, students can also take any or all courses to audit only (that means attend without transferring the credit).
Altogether 11 students had signed up for UMY's IRViSS. Along the way, 3 students had to drop out due to various reasons (poor Internet connectivity in their hometowns/ villages; other study and work commitment).
I am happy to report that remaining students completed their course(s) with great success, bringing back As and Bs! Readers can read about them and their testimonies in this issue.
All the very best to our participating students in all their future endeavours. May they continue to enjoy their fruitful and enjoyable international learning experience!
Thank you
