Abstract:
Mobile Augmented Reality (AR) application provides a service without constraining
the individual whereabouts to a specially equipped area. Educational researchers
already recognized the possibilities for teaching and learning provided by Augmented
Reality (AR). Nowadays, the Dusun language has been categorized in the extinction
language. This project proposed to help the learners to study and be attracted to the
Dusun language. In other words, it develops a mobile application for learning Dusun
language with the feature of marker-based Augmented Reality (AR). It also can be
used as an alternative besides textbook and other website platform that teach Dusun
language. Moreover, it will be one of the ways to avoid Dusun language from dying.
In this application, it consists of four modules of Learning, Simple Conversation,
Assessment and Culture. The main objectives are to design and develop a markerbased Augmented Reality (AR) technique for a mobile application to learn Dusun
language. Besides, to develop modules and user interfaces for the Dusun mobile
application marker-based detection technique by using Augmented Reality (AR).
Lastly, to evaluate the usability of the Dusun Mobile Augmented Reality Applications
with the real user. The software that will be used for developing the application is
Unity 2018 which is the cross-platform game engine developed by Unity
Technologies. It used to develop mobile devices application using a C# programming
language. Besides, Vuforia Engine also will be used to provide an environment for
implementing Augmented Reality (AR).
