This course introduces students to the structure and operation of Malaysia’s gas pipeline network, which links gas production facilities to coastal processing and storage units (upstream and midstream) before distributing the gas for domestic use or export (downstream). It aims to provide students with essential knowledge of piping and gas pipeline systems relevant to the oil and gas industry, preparing them for future roles as technicians in related sectors. Students will learn to apply hydrocarbon flow calculations using gas equations and develop a theoretical understanding of Malaysia’s gas pipeline distribution system—from transmission terminals (transmission lines) to distribution and reticulation systems. In addition, practical sessions allow students to engage directly with piping system components for installation and gas distribution purposes, reinforcing their technical comprehension. |
