Abstract:
Malaysia, being unique and multicultural, is home to citizens from diverse ethnic and religious backgrounds. The increasing number of RNPOs in Malaysia is due to the country’s variety of ethnicities and religions, which has led each ethnic group to establish its own religious nonprofit organization. Therefore, it is interesting to explore the factors that influence individuals to be more inclined to donate to RNPOs rather than to regular NPOs. In turn, it is called for a development of donor-based checklist to act as a guiding tool for RNPOs in designing and managing their organization, that could help them attract more donors. This can be achieved by enhancing financial management practices, aligning the organization’s aims and activities with donor expectations and beliefs, and promoting greater transparency, accountability, and donor satisfaction.
