dc.description.abstract Innovative teaching with teaching aid can emphasise on the need and engagement of student to bring up more enthusiastic learning process. Lecturers used teaching materials to help their verbal explanation more intriguing to the class. Brain herniation is a fatal complication as a result of increased intracranial pressure caused by diseases of brain such as cerebral tumours. Learning the mechanism of brain herniation is difficult for the students to understand. We presented a model of brain herniation using easily available materials as a first step of innovative teaching material. The model explains more effectively about the mechanism of herniation of cerebellar tonsils through the foramen magnum. en_US
