Fibroadenoma breast

Abstract

It is a tromal tumor, most common benign tumor of the female breast. The age incidence is mostly in 20-30 and there may be multiple, bilateral palpable mass. In older women, it appears as a mammographic density or clustered calcification. It composed of both epithelium & fibrous stromal components, epithelium components form glandular structures and lined by mammary duct-type epithelium. The stromal component is a loose, cellular form of fibrous tissue. In very large mass, the stromal may be myxomatous. Epithelial component is hormonally responsive and typically increase in size due to lactational changes during pregnancy.
