Abstract:
Health care for pregnant mothers is an important and core service of primary care. With the need to ensure the best care is given based on the latest guidelines, multiple aspects of the mother’s health must be provided. Multiple screenings such as risk of gestational diabetes, pre-eclampsia, venous thromboembolism, tuberculosis, depression, and anxiety must be done. Persistent anaemia in pregnant patients must be treated promptly and this requires specific calculation to get the adequate dosage of parenteral iron. However, there are limitations to the human resources and system that might impede care for pregnant patients i.e., forgetfulness, calculation error, and limited time to look up sources. This Antenatal Care tool is a Microsoft Excel file that has multiple sheets that are used during antenatal care. The file can be used offline using a computer or smartphone. Each sheet will have different screening or calculation tools that are used frequently during the care of an antenatal patient. The outcome of the screening and calculation tool will give specific plans that must be carried out according to the latest national guidelines. This will prevent medical errors and ease health care providers.
