dc.description.abstract The guest lecture delivered at Universitas Nusa Putra, Sukabumi, Indonesia, introduced students to the community-based CSR initiatives implemented by Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS). The session highlighted how UMS integrates academic expertise, student participation, and local partnerships to create sustainable impact in rural and semi-urban communities. Using real examples such as UniMadani-funded community projects, traditional handicraft development, and income-generation activities, the lecture demonstrated how CSR can function as a structured, ethical, and impactful approach to community empowerment. Students were exposed to the full CSR cycle—from needs assessment, stakeholder engagement, project implementation, and monitoring, to community capacity-building—illustrating how universities serve as catalysts for social and economic development. The lecture emphasized that meaningful CSR requires cultural sensitivity, long-term commitment, and collaborative action, elements that UMS actively embeds in its community engagement strategies. en_US
