Abstract:
Frontal sinus patterns can be assessed using posteroanterior (PA) skull radiographs and classified based on the presence or absence of the frontal sinus. When the frontal sinus is present, the pattern can be further categorised as either symmetrical or asymmetrical. Asymmetry is determined by the deviation of the central septum, which separates the left and right frontal sinuses, toward either the left or right side. A centrally positioned septum indicates a symmetrical frontal sinus pattern. When the frontal sinus is absent, the pattern is categorised as unilateral (left or right) or bilateral absence.
